What is the Mortality of syphilis in Australia!

Question: What is the Mortality of syphilis in Australia
does any one know the death rate of syphilis that occurs in Australia!? in ratios please!. Cheers!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Very low, if any!. Syphilis was not recorded as a cause of death in the most recent Bureau of Statistics report (for 2006)!.

Syphilis is relatively uncommon in Australia compared to most other countries, but has increased and increasing prevalence in some groups and areas such as gay males and indigenous Australians!. Most states have rising report levels in recent years!.

There were 1960 deaths in 2006 where infectious diseases were listed as a cause!. Most were from septicaemia, which is often a terminal event in people with end stage disease from other causes!. The median age of people who died from all infectious causes, including septicaemia, was 78!.4 years!.

HIV was a major cause of infectious disease deaths in younger people, but with only 100 deaths from a population of 20 million, the HIV related death rate is very low by world standards!. The median age of death from HIV disease was about 45 years!.
