Can doctors prescribe an epipen before referral to!

Question: Can doctors prescribe an epipen before referral to
an allergy specialist!?
My 4 year old daughter had a mild allergic reaction to a brazil nut today (she's fine now) - symptoms were swollen inside of mouth and lips, and hives on face - she was given Piriton and the reaction calmed down and has now completely gone away!. In retrospect, she has had hives before after we ate some peanuts (she didn't have any) - I have only now linked the two occurrences!.
She has a doctors appointment tomorrow morning!.
I know the doctor will tell me tomorrow, but I'm worried now about going on hoiday abroad next week without an epipen in case a dangerous reaction is set off!. I will of course avoid nuts from now on and seek medical advice, but if anyone knows from experience what happens, please let me know!.

Yes,

My daughter has a reaction to strawberries and we were given an epi-pen while we waited to see a specialist!.

I'm sure the Doctor will prescribe an epi-pen tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you give your daughter a piriton in the morning each day this should prevent any reactions to nut traces,
obviously avoid eating whole nuts,
but for compleate peace of mind i would talk to your gp about it tommorow and ask if a epipen would be wise they will be able to advise you if this would be neccisary

hope your daughters ok and have a nice holiday xWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sure the Doctor will prescribe the epipen under the circumstances of what has happened!. I'm allergic to all nuts & all fish!.!.!.It's quite a common allergy!. My GP issues me with a new one every 12 months!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am sure the Dr will have no issue prescribing you with an Epipen in this circumstance, it's already evident your daughter is allergic, and one with such an allergy should always carry an epipen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

oh yeah, my family dr gave me my first one!. keep some childrens benadryl on hand too, just in case of a mild reaction to something!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

A doctor can issue it in the interim period to be on the safe side!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
