Question about herpes?!
Question: Question about herpes!?
My sister is coming to visit and she told me she has herpes!. I'm worried that if she uses my bathroom that i can catch it from her!. Is that possible!? Should i clean it really well every time she uses it!? What can i do to protect myself!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO u can't get herpes from a toilet seat!. it doesn't live long on objects like that!.
this may sound gross but the only way u could get herpes from a toilet seat is if u sat on the seat with some one who had herpes at the same time and rubbed your genitals together!. the other way is to have some sort of sexual contact with her but i dout that's likely to happen!.
u don't have to clean it every time she uses it, she will think your treating her like a germaphobe!. u can leave her some damp Wet Ones to clean the toilet seat with if your that worried!. just don't use a damp towel that she just used!.

I had a friend once that stayed with me and she had herpes!. When she used the bathroom I would go in behind her and clean the seat off just before I or my kids used it!. I didn't do it in front of her or that she would know or be embarassed, but I did do it because you can catch herpes from a toilet seat!. Since this is your sister, maybe ask her if she wouldn't mind cleaning the seat when she got done in the bathroom, I mean you have shared a bathroom before I know, and I'm sure that you have cleaned up after her plenty of times!. Just be nice about it, it may hurt her feelings a little but let her know that you are sisters and you are just looking out for your health!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
if she is telling you she has it than its more than likely type 1 and type 2, you can use lysol on the toilet before you use it, it kills the virus!. don't share any makeup with her especially lip balms, have her put her tooth brush in a separate place from yours as well!. don't turn into a clean freak or express your concerns with her, i am sure she is already discouraged from it, and doesn't need you freaking out about it as well!. don't share any drinks with her and if you have kids ask her not to kiss them on the mouthWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ok, you can NOT catch it from a toilet seat!.!.!.I dont know where some people get their info!.!.!.!.It is caught by skin on skin contact and oral is through kissing or oral sex!.!.!.It doesnt live outside the body so you dont get it that way!. Herpes or not, whenever I have guest over I always have on hand a disinfect like Lysol!. It's always good to get in the habit of spraying your toilet then wiping it with paper towel!. Also when I go to hotels, I spray the toilet, sheets, tables!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com
