Question: What do I say to my dad after his wife of 29 years has died!?
She was my step mother!. She died of heart failure!. my dad had to make a decision to pull the plug on her, because she kept flat lining!.What do I say to make him feel better!? My mother( his 2nd wife) died 31 years ago!. I was young!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, I want to say you have my sympathy and your father!. Tell him too think about all the good times him and her shared!. It's never easy getting over someone so close too you that passed away!. But you can help him take one day at a time!. He need you more than ever be there with him, tell him it's ok to cry!. I want you to tell him you will cry with him!. Look through picture of him and her together!. Also tell him to read the Bible ir he want to, read Psalm 23!. Pray because it works!. You pray with him!. May God Bless You and Him!. Tell him how sorry you are that he is going through grief and sorrow right now!. Tell him you love him and you are there for him!. Give him a hug, and talk about whatever he wants to talk about!. Some people need to talk out their grief, but others don't--just let him decide how much to say and be there for him!.

I work in a nursing home and I deal with death a lot!. But no matter what there aren't ever any words that can help!. In my opinion the best help is a shoulder when they need and space as well!. People tend to wanna hover and crowd someone when they lose a loved one!.!.!.!.but a lot of people really just need space!. Be there and wait for him to wanna talk!. Your a good daughter to be so concerned!.
