Well, John, there are a whole lot of things that this could be, so maybe seeing your doctor would be an excellent idea!.

Please note that I'm not a doctor!. I don't even play a doctor on TV or in fantasy!. None of this is medical advice!. It's just stuff to think about and maybe try, if it makes sense to you, while you are waiting to see a real live in-person health care provider!.

While you are waiting for your doctor's appointment, how's your diet!? Eating enough bananas to keep monkeying around!? Seriously, bananas are a source of potassium, which is an electrolyte, and is necessary for all the muscles to work right!. Other electrolytes are calcium and magnesium, and the 'master electrolyte' is sodium!. Without sodium, the others don't get absorbed!.

Try a sports drink to see if that helps!. also, keep asking for water, no matter how you pronounce it, because being dehydrated does some strange things to our thinking, our muscle function, and how our nerves work!. Don't overdo it though, because you don't want to wash out too many nutrients and electrolytes!. If you pee almost perfectly clear, you may be drinking too much plain water!. A light yellow is good!. A deep yellow or orange often means you are not drinking enough water to let your body work right!.

Also take a look at what you are eating!. If you are living on hamburgers and french fries and cokes, then you might want to look at getting food that will supply your body with the electrolytes and nutrients it needs to grow right!. I know broccoli and cauliflower and carrots are not nearly as tasty as pizza, ice cream and candy bars, but 'man doth not live by junk food alone!.' Sometimes jitters, spasms, and worries are helped by eating what is called a "more healthy diet!."

At 13 years old, a whole lot of things are going on in the body!. There is growth, hormone stuff, and the psychological stresses of being between kid-like and adult-like!. With the physical growth, sometimes the nerves get stretched, making the places they serve feel funny or strange, and that's nerve-wracking!. The motor nerves, when stretched by growth, may cause twitches and small spasms too!.

Then again, stress might be a major piece of this all!. My mom got me into yoga and breathing excercises along with meditation, and that seemed to help me!.

Bottom line is, you are probably OK, but if you are worried, get to a doctor and get checked out!.

Hope this helps a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Restless Legs Syndrome

http://health!.yahoo!.com/sleep-overview/r!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello!. I'm sure its frustrating!. Lack of certain nutrients can cause these problems!. Our food does not have the same amount of nutrients that it used to!.Foods have been genetically changed to ripen more slowly while in transit, to be bigger, more colorful, but they forgot to make them just as nutritious!. Magnesium helps my muscle twitches, and has less side affects than prescriptions made for "restless leg syndrome"!. Also vitamin B complex (has all the vitamin B's in it) will help any problems with the whole nervous system and damaged nerves!. I am not prescribing, just telling you what has helped me in the same situation!. I got so shaky and stuttered so much I thought I would have a seizure at any minute!. I started taking the vitamin B tabs that go under the tongue (sublingual) and dissolve right into the blood stream from the blood vessels under the tongue!.Mine has folic acid with it, because vitamin B isn't absorbed well without folic acid!. If you take vitamin B by swallowing it, the stomach acid destroys it!. Also a good multi-vitamin/mineral has helped!. If that doesn't help within about 10-14 days, then hopefully you have insurance or can go to a free clinic for further neurological investigation!. If you don't like prescriptions, you can go to a homoeopathic/naturopathic or holistic Dr!. who can help you with gentle herbs/supplements which have been helping to treat problems since plants were first put on the earth!. The modern medicine has its place if nothing else seems to work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I really don't think its RLS (restless legs syndrome)!. I have that and its more of a tingling sensation in the lower legs, which makes it impossible to fall asleep!. It can cause jerky legs sometimes, but it doesn't effect speech i don't think, or cause stomach pains!. Your best bet is to go to a doctor!. It's safer to know what it is rather then try and guess; especially if it starts to get worse!. Good Luck!.

I definitely recommend a doctor rather than a homeopath!. It sounds fairly serious from your symptoms!. A doctor will be able to properly diagnose you, rather than a homeopath, who's likely to give you some useless (& expensive) supplements for something that may require more serious treatments! Go to a doctor before you treat yourself with various vitamins and all that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
