How do I know if this xanax is helping?!
Question: How do I know if this xanax is helping!?
I have been taking !.25 mg twice daily (sometimes 3 times daily because its every 8 hours) for a little over a month!. I was given it for stomach problems cause by anxiety!. My stomach has had less of an acid problem but I don't really feel any less anxious or more calm at all!. I still can't sleep and I am still get very agitated easily (especially while driving)!.
I sleep an average of 5 hours per night (max 9 hours min 2)
I weigh 115 lbs!. And I really don't want to take more because of the horrible things I have heard!.
So my question is, does this drug take longer to have an effect, or should I be feeling more of an effect from it by now after a month of taking it!?

The xanax should be working by now!.
Actually, they use antidepressants for IBS & anxiety!.
Try Tylenol PM or Benedryl for your sleep!.
Talk to your MD about the ineffectiveness of your xanax for anxiety!.
Go to a gastroenterologist for your stomach problems!.!.!.dicyclomine may work in addition to the xanax!.
Return to the prescribing MD for overall discussion & re-evaluation of your meds!.

Listen to the first answer please!. I was taking Xanax!. The longer I took it the more I needed!. The more I took the more agitated I became!. I have heard that it is benzo based and the euphoria wears off real fast and leaves you needing more!. I was up to 120 !.5mg!. per month from my doctor and buying them on the street!. I detoxed myself and thought I was dying!. After dehydrating during the detox I had to go to the ER!. They said to detox like I did all of a sudden can kill you!. If your doctor wants to keep you on this, seek a second opinion!. Klonipine is a safer alternative!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think you need to go back to your doctor and discuss this matter with him!. Ask him about Klonopin, which is what I am on!. It is not nearly addicting and stays in your system a lot longer!. I absolutely love it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
