I actually don't agree with the comment made by fairy, if you didn't need the medication you wouldn't have been put on it!. A lot of the time the medication is used to prevent things getting worse!. By not taking your medication you could have allowed your condition to worsen, without suffering any effects as yet but making future treatment you may need ineffective!.
Perhaps it may be better to discuss it with your doctor, if you feel you do not need to be taking what you have been prescribed they may agree to you stopping taking it, but you really shouldn't just give it up due to laziness it may seriously effect you in years to come!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have hypothyroidism!. And its not good!. I thought the same way you did, I can't be bothered by not taking it!. But in my case if I don't my body stops reproducing the blood I need for my body to function!. If you were taking it you would be chemically balanced!. But since your not you glands have to work twice as hard to keep your body running!. You probably have noticed or you have noticed some changes and you don't know enough about hypothyroidism to know the effects!. I suggest you educate yourself before it to late!. Oh and my friend ended up having a hysterectomy, because she didn't want to take her thyroid meds and her periods wouldn't stop so the doctors had know choice!. Now she is 32 and can't have kids!. Because she couldn't be botheredWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you don't mind to be permanently cold, sleepy (needing 12 to 14 hours sleep a day), underweight, in short having a metabolism which functions on 2/3 of its capacity then your behavior is not bad at all!. As to the long-term consequences of untreated hypothyroidism please look them up in google!. Maybe you may be bothered to go back to your medicine after reading the articles!.

For fairy: you obviously have not the faintest idea of what is the patient's condition and you should refrain giving "advice" like the one in your answer !. This is borderline to malpractice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you aren't depressed or always cold or always tired or having trouble sleeping or gaining a lot of weight or have frequent emotional swings, then you are probably OK without it !.!.!.

If you are having any of these problems, then the medication will help !.!.!.

I have hypothyroidism, too !.!.!. w/o my medication I experience several of these symptoms, so it is worth it for me to keep up with it !.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Once you start taking the medication it is for life, it is dangerous to stop taking them, go to your doctors and talk to them and they can explain what can happen!. When you take thyroid medicine you do not pay for any of your prescriptions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well your not dead!.
