Am i getting heart palpitations? easy ten points for first good answer?!

Question: Am i getting heart palpitations!? easy ten points for first good answer!?
i looked it up and what i feel seems pretty accurate, its like i all of a sudden feel my heart beating weirdly for about ten-fifteen seconds and then it just kinda stops!.its usually in the late afternoon or early evening, especially after ive ran around a lot during the day and ate something sugary!. i dont thing it has anything to do with anxiety because im not the kind of person that gets nervous a lot and im usually extremely calm, and also when it happens its usually at home while im doing something calming like watching tv!. in fact just as im writing this i just had one!! also i dont think it has anything to do with diabetes either!. does this mean anything serious, and should i see a doctor!? and if i see a doctor, what kind of tests will he do!? thanks SO much in advance!. easy ten points for first good answer!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey it sounds like you might be having palpitations!. I have SVT (superventricular tachycardia (sp)!. I would HIGHLY advise you to go to a cardiologist!. They'll usually perform a stress test on you or give you a little heart monitor to wear so they can catch when the heart flares up and beats fast!. My SVT was caught when I was 17, and it turned out I had it my entire life!. SVT and palpitations are common and are not something to be too seriously worried about!.

If you have SVT the electrical wiring to your heart is off, therefore causing it to race at a stand still!. (Like you said while you were watching TV)!. SVT can be treated with medication (one pill a day is what I take) or a procedure!. I'm not trying to diagnose you I'm just trying to let you know about what it could possibly be!.

Like I said, see a cardiologist ASAP to let them test you out!. You'll be fine! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would definitely go to a doctor just to make sure that everything is ok!.
Heart palpitations, in addition to anxiety, can also be caused by caffeine and low potassium levels!. If you drink a lot of caffeine, try cutting back and see if that helps and you may want to get a blood test to check your potassium levels!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like heart palpatations to me!. I have that also!. you very well could have hypertension!. If you keep having this you need to go to doctor!.They can run an electrical cardiogram- ekg!. tells how your heart beats!. this doesn't hurt at all!. also they run what is called a stress test!. To be on the safw side I would have this checked out!. good luck!. hope you get better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My husband has these episodes!. He had his aortic valve replaced, but still has palpitations just like that!. You need to see a cardiologist to get diagnosed, it could be one of many heart conditions!. Also, try to go with out caffeine & sugar and see if that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Benign heart palpitations are quite common!. I experience them myself and take a low dose beta blocker when I am having symptoms!. You should make an appt!. to see a general practitioner and they will evaluate your symptoms and most likely will refer you to a cardiologist!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Man I hate that feeling!. Your description is right on as far as palpatations go!. You can have them even relaxing, like you said!. I had mine checked out a few years ago - mine were anxiety related so I was given an anti-anxiety med!. But you don't seem to have that issue!. If you're diabetic, then it's understandable for you to have the palpatations after you consume some sugar!.

I would check it out with your doctor, just to be on the safe side!. It's absolutely no big deal - they will probably run an EKG on you, which doesn't hurt and is not invasive (they place sticky pads on your chest, arms and legs and connect them to a machine)!. You'll answer some questions!. Don't let fear keep you from going because it honestly won't hurt!. Hope you get it all resolved!Www@Answer-Health@Com
