I typically will have some almonds, a tablespoon of organic peanut butter or a boiled egg!. Anything that's basically carb free and moderate protein!. I'm getting ready to try some Omberto brand pepperoni sticks!. They're about 110 calories, 1g Carb and 11 grams protein per stick (1 oz!.)!. Since I basically eat carb free, I don't worry about calories!. Otherwise, the peanut butter may be a little higher in calories than you may want!.

Anything with carbs, as you know, will cause a too quick spike and fall in blood sugar!.

Yes, walnuts are very good!. High in Omega-3 fats, which is good for the baby!. You should stay away from cashews because they are high in sugar and will likely spike you--they do me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why can't you have fruit at night!? My daughter is type 1, and fruit keeps her sugars under control better at night than other foods do!.

And I had GD when I was pregnant with too!. Don't forget that being pregnant makes diabetes management different!. You need a steady stream of carbs throughout the day for the baby, so you can't go low carb!. Do whatever you have to do to keep those numbers down, but make sure you're getting the right amount of carbs spaced evenly through the day!.

Are you exercising!? If not, and you doctor has not put you on restricted activity, then start!. I know it's hard, but it will help your diabetes tremendously!. Some of the benefits will start immediately, but it will start to help more overall in about a month!. I would go on a two mile walk every other day!. Oh, and make sure you bring your meter and some sugar along with you when you go, your sugars can go low easily when you're exercising!.

Edit:

Wow, you're pretty angry!. And for absolutely no reason!. This wasn't "a preach" !.!.!. you asked for advice and I gave it!. I come here because I enjoy helping people, and I thought I could help!.

You do have to be careful not to go too low carb when you have gestational diabetes!. I had it only once, but I learned about it well!. Your growing baby needs carbs!. You need a certain amount of carbs, not too many and not too few, and you're supposed to space them out throughout the day so your sugar doesn't spike or go low!. If you don't know this already, you need to hit the books, or talk to someone who knows about GD!. If you cut out too many carbs it will be bad for your unborn baby!. I wish you the best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cottage cheese is packed with protein and it's slow-releasing, which helps your blood sugars stabilize all night!. I usually have cottage cheese and some peanut butter toast, or with some crackers, or fruit!.

For fastings though most likely you just need a better dose of baseline insulin!. Good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I adore grilled mushrooms on toast which I often have as my supper!.

If I'm not too hungry sometimes just a yoghurt will do it for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
