Does a foot ulcer automatically mean that you are going to loose your foot !?!

Question: Does a foot ulcer automatically mean that you are going to loose your foot !!?
Answers:
As long as you are in good control of your sugars long term (ie HbA1c under 7), you are in good health otherwise and you have gotten treatment quickly, there should be no reason for a diabetic to loose their foot due to an ulcer!.

However this does not mean it is not a serious threat so great care must be taken until the ulcer is FULLY healed which may take much longer than the time of a non-diabetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It only means you loose the foot if you get it infected!.

A foot ulcer needs immediate ER attention!. Get it medicated and proped up and keep it clean and medicated!.

If it gets infected that goes into gangrene and that is when it gets removed from your body!. And usually it gets cut off way way above where you really expect it to be because the doctors want to be sure they have all the severely infected flesh and bone excised from the body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
