Answers:
I sympathize with you!.!.!.!.it's a horrible feeling!. I don't know if the doctor gave you antidiarrheal meds, antibiotics or a combo!. Sometimes antibiotics can give you diarrhea; however, for a bacterial gut infection, it should have resolved it!. There is "good" bacteria that colonizes your intestines (there's also bad bacteria, as well)!. The good bacteria helps with your immune system as well as keeping the levels of bad bacteria in check and your bowels moving properly!. When you get sick, run down or take antibiotics, some of the gut bacteria dies off (antibiotics, for example, cannot distinguish between "good" and 'bad" bacteria)!. It wouldn't hurt to start probiotic therapy, which is simply ingesting large quantities of the good bacteria to recolonize your gut!. There are a few yogurts that taut their GI cultures ("Activia")!. At this point, dairy may be too difficult to tolerate!. Whole Foods sells probiotics in the refrigerated section (Jarro is the brand)!. I find this product to be very effective with diarrhea caused by antibiotics!.

Another consideration is to add bulk forming agents to your diet (please check with your doctor first)!. Psyllium fiber helps absorb some of the fluid, thus making the stool less watery!.

As far as the color of the stool, don't worry!. As you mentioned, it could be related to your diet or vitamins or it's very possibly related to your rapid transit time (from mouth to toilet)!. The bile (secreted in the first part of your intestine) is greenish!. The intestinal bacteria that I mentioned above helps to convert those bile pigments to urobilogen (which is brown)!.

I hope you feel better soon!. Make sure you keep your doctor in the loop with regard to your progress and any supplemental treatments you may initiate (i!.e!. probiotics or bulk forming agents)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well!.!.!.twice you saw the doctor and you still don't know what's happening!. I suggest you see a doctor who specializes in stomach problems!. Your doctor can suggest someone!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
