it depends on the size of the boil, the course of treatment, and the level of infection!. it can be anywhere from 5 days to 2 months!.
if you are on antibiotics, draining the boil regularly and using cold compresses then it should go away within 5 days!.

If you put a moist hot pack, or hot water bottle wrapped in a towel, this will help draw it to a "head" and will break!. A few days after that, it should start to clear up!. If it is a large boil or carbuncle, (boil with more than one head) you may have to see a doctor about having it lanced and drained!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
