My white blood count was 12000 ?!

Question: My white blood count was 12000 !?
i have already done blood work like a week ago and everything was normal this time i went to another doctor and he took blood samples from me again and i got my white blood count today and he said is 12000 the main reason why went the first time was because i was feeling dizzy , nauseous , and light headache stress problems but the doc didn't gave any med so that's why i got a second opinion and i got my results today and that's what the doctor told me , i was also running on a little fever when they took blood out it is that really bad i have to go back monday for another blood test and urine should i go to the hospital !?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i just saw another question by you and said your count was 1200 (maybe it was a typo!?)

anyway i can't say that your dizzy spells and headache etc!. were because of your high count!. and its just marginally high!. normally it should be 4,000-11,000!. you may have a slight infection but i don't think its anything to worry about!.

i work in a lab and test myself often and actually the last time i tested myself it was 12,100 and i felt just fine!. it could have been that your sample was not mixed properly, the analyzer could have just read a spot which contained more white blood cells or maybe it was just having an off day!.

if you are really worried about it (and it sounds like you are) go back to the doctor again and give more blood and urine!. you should be just fine though!.

PS yes it could be an ear infection (which would explain your dizzy spells and nausea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your white blood count is not that elevated!. 10800 is the top of normal!. So you seem to have a slight infection of some sort!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your blood count is not to high prob!. some type of infection!. I would go back monday for test and if you think you have ear infection let the doc know so he can give you some meds!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

You don't need the hospital, your count is not that bad!. Rest, drink fluids and take your meds if they gave you any!. Any kind of infection, even a small one will raise the white count!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
