A condom may help, but it will not prevent genital herpes!. I caught genital hepres while my partner was wearing a condom!.
You can get future partners tested, but that can get confusing, since a blood test will only tell you THAT someone has HSV1 or HSV2, not where they have it!. Since it is possible to get either strain (HSV1 or HSV2) in either place (orally or genitally), a blood test may not be a whole lot of help!. It's better than nothing, but it's not the whole story!.
Best thing to do is:
a) Wear a condom!. It helps and it prevents other stuff!.
b) Talk to you partner!. Ask them about their sexual history and share your own!. "Ever had an STD!?" "Me, too!" "Get tested every year!?" "Me, too!"
c) Get tested periodically - like when you go in for an annual check up!.

A condom will be a little better than using nothing at all, but will still not be a 100% gaurantee that you won't get it - nothing can promise that except not having sex at all!. It is possible that you can get future partners tested, if they are willig to do it, you cant force them or do it without their knowledge!. NO condoms are not all that great when it comes to herpes!. when u think about it condoms only cover so much of u and your partner's genitals!. if they had symptoms of an out break or an out break outside of where the condom covers then u can still have a risk of getting herpes!. the safer way to not get herpes is to not have any kind of sex with some one if they have herpes!.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO it definitely does not!!!! This is why it is so prevalent nowadays, it is soooo easy to spread--one in 4 people have it!.!.!.and it can be spread skin to skin, so no no no a condom will not protect you! NO! A man can have a herpes lesion on his scrotum/testicles!. That part of the male anatomy is not protected by a condom!. To be perfectly blunt- if he has herpes and his balls are slapping against you then you can contract herpes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
you can get herpes by skin to skin contact it dont matter if they have a willy cover or not you can still get it!. and if they don't have anything to hide they will go get tested!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
