When a person who has had a stroke do their nerves ever regenerate?!

Question: When a person who has had a stroke do their nerves ever regenerate!?
Answers:
Until recently it was thought that you could never get new brain cells after a certain age!. Now, it is understood that in rare instances brain cells do divide to replace damaged cells!.
Most likely the nerve pathways in the person's brain will try to rewire to compensate from the damaged part of the brain!. Sometimes this is very effective, and sometimes it is not so effective!. Often it will leave the person tired because they have fewer brain cells trying to do all the work!. The best way to regain function is to work the effected areas!. If a person has weakness on one side, they should do exercises to work that side!. If someone has problems with speech, they should work very hard with a speech therapist to have the best chance of recovery!. Also, the younger the person is when they have the stroke the better!.
I had a few small strokes, and so far I've come a long way!. I went from not being able to sit up, to running short distances, so improvement is definitely very possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Strokes affect central nervous system nerves in the brain!. Nerves of the CNS do not regenerate!. However the brain can use different, still functioning, parts of the brain to perform functions and links that are broken between parts of the brain can improve!. This is not a regeneration of nerve fibres but an improvement of the connection!.

But basically the nerves do not regenerate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I quit drinking at 43, I was pronounced with CNS damage!. 3 yr s ago I had a stroke and brain bleed and brain surgery!. None of it helped!. Still crazy as h**l!. It's like quitting smoking; the hardest part is staying away from the idiots who absolutely know it's real hard!. I was absolutely amazed to learn how many drugs there are to make life next to impossible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stoke recovery occurs initially due to resolution of oedema and brain bruising!. Later progress is due to improved muscle function and the use of alternate pathways!. Unfortunately brain tissue damaged by stroke does not regenerate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It can swing both ways - some people make a full recovery, while others remain permanently disabled!.

My Grandfather had a stroke 3 years ago - sadly, he is confined to a wheelchair and has never regained his speech :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brain cells that are dead never regenerate!. Damaged cells can heal, that's why people with strokes often show some improvement!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They say here in the uk that if the hospital gets a stroke victim in within 2 hrs they can now recover full body functions!. This is relatively new but things have really improved for stroke victims!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
