Why is it that my blood sugars are consistanly around 100-120 in the morning but throughout the day they are around normal before meals!? My endocrinologist says Im pre-diabetic but my A1C is in the 5!.0-5!.5 range!. My other doctor says thats normal!. Im totally confused because my fasting sugars should be alot lower!. Someone please explain, thanks!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a phenomenon called LIVER DUMP!.

At night, when you blood sugars get in the 70-80 range, you liver "dumps" stored sugar!. Therefore, when you wake up you readings are high!.

But 100-120 are GOOD readings! If tha tis as high as they get, you should be OK!.

Your A1C is very good -- just absolutely normal! This shows that your AVERAGE blood sugar over the last 90 days is about 100!.

Very very good!!! Keep it that way, and you will have little to worry about!.

There are some very hard line doctor who consider any daily finger prick test results above 100 pre-diabetic!. The problem that the supporting HbA1C test result has to be below 5!.0!. Not easy to reach even for a non-diabetic!.

Visit my blog site and print off the Blood Glucose Level Chart!. The chart relates the HbA1C and daily finger prick test results!. The chart displays the full range of results both for USA and Canada!. Study the chart for your self!.

That is a great A1C!. One thing you might try is eating something with protein right at bedtime to counteract the "dawn phenomenon" that another answerer described!. The idea is to keep your sugars from going low in the middle of the night by eating something right before bed, like fruit & cottage cheese, a half sandwich, etc!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your A1C looks good so don't worry about your pre meal sugars just beware of the of the signs and symptoms of them if there low or too high Www@Answer-Health@Com
