Should I get checked for a UTI even though the symptoms are gone?!

Question: Should I get checked for a UTI even though the symptoms are gone!?
A couple of days ago I seemed to have the classic UTI symptoms-- cloudy, egg-smelling urine, some discomfort and a bit of stinging at the end of my urinating [it wasn't too bad but it seemed to be getting worse from bad smelling urine to pain]!. I drank no-sugar-added cranberry juice religiously and urinated as much as I could and the symptoms seemed to have disappeared!. Urine is getting better and there is no pain!. Should I still get my urine checked out to see if it is a UTI!? I'm underage and sexually active and I doubt I can afford antibiotics!. I am leaving for college soon [out of state] and I don't have a car but I'm pretty sure I can get to a planned parenthood that's 5 minutes from campus!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can still have an infection and not have any symptoms at all!. I get them the frequently and the only way I ever know about it is that I go to my doctor every 3 months (I am diabetic and have to have blood work done often)!. She usually finds them then, when she does urine tests on me!. I have never had a UTI where I had symptoms!. You need to go to the doctor, you will problably need antibiotics!. Left untreated, the infection can become serious!. It could also be a sign of kidney problems like kidney stones!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say that you are fine if the symptoms are gone usually they will prescribe antibiotics!. But since you are sexually active, I WOULD get checked , it could be a STDand well it's always best if you check rather than finding out when it's too late if you have something!. Make sure you use the restroom before and after sex , use cotton under wear and avoid wearing tight pants!. Planned Parenthood is free, and also most colleges also offer free STD screenings in their clinics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
