Can men be tested for HPV virus? ?!

Question: Can men be tested for HPV virus!? !?
Can men be tested for that virus that can cause cervix cancer in women!? Just wondering, as I was my ex husband's first sexual partner but my new boyfriend has been with lots of different women and he wants me to move in with him!.

Is it possible for a woman in the late 20s to have a vaccine for it, or do they just do it on teenage girls!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Right now, there is no clinically available test for HPV in men!. Therefore a man cannot know whether he has had HPV unless he shows symptoms (usually genital warts)!. HPV can incubate for up to three years, so it's a tough call even if you take his history into account!. But considering that the prevalence of HPV is about 70-80% in all adults, if he has had more than one partner, it's statistically very likely he has encountered HPV at some point!.

Does that necessarily present a danger to you!? NO!. Most healthy people clear HPV infection naturally!. Still, it's necessary to get regular Pap smears and STD screens!.

As for Gardasil, it is licensed for women ages 9 to 26!. So if you are still 26, you can get it and have it convered by insurance!. If you are over 26, then you need to ask your doctor nicely and pay out of pocket!. It costs about $120 to $150 per shot, and it's 3 shots over a 6 month span!. I got Gardasil when it first came out!. I was 26 at the time, and we paid for it out of pocket!. So far so good!. No side effects (although the injections themselves were more painful than most)!. And a clear Pap every time!Www@Answer-Health@Com
