How can I get a smear test in the UK? im under 25?!

Question: How can I get a smear test in the UK!? im under 25!?
I am 23 from the UK with NHS healthcare (public heathcare funded by taxes-in UK most ppl have this)!. I went to the doctors, who told me that they do not do smear tests until you turn 25, because statistically it dosent prevent many cases of cervical cancer!. I have seen US heath sites and they recommend that you get them done as soon as ONE year after first having sex!. They also say that having HPV virus can increase the chances of cervical cancer!. It had been 8 yrs since I 1st had sex and I do also have the HPV virus!.!.!.(yes feel free to judge if you are inclined)!.I feel the NHS is putting me at risk, but they refuse to give me a smear!. My doctor says that even though it was 8 yrs ago, I dont need to worry!. The thing is, the more sexual parners you have, the higher the risk of cervical cancer!. I have had 16, and although I wouldnt have sex until in a commited relationship now, in the past I had let myself be used by blokes and used to have no self esteem whatsoever and didnt used to feel able to refse sex if they initiated it, for fear of displeasing them!. Although I am totally not that way inclined now and have learnt my lesson, How can I make my doctor see that I am in a high risk group!? I have not told him about the HPV (was treated at an anonymous sexual health clinic, also tested had and no other STDs) or the number of sexual partners!. Should I go back!? I feel very uncomfortable teling him these things!. Or should I just wait until I am 25!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to be 100% up front with the doctor about your past and voice your concerns!.As you have already said, you are a high risk!.Prevention is the best thing when it comes to finding out about smear test results!.Try another doctor until you get what you want!.Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to your local GUM clinic!. They'll talk to you in confidence and probably will give you the test on the NHS!. Alternatively, you could go to a private practice doctor!. I don't suppose that this will be too expensive, maybe
