Answers:
hi ashley, I am a female crohn's pt!. for 28 yrs!. You can't catch Crohn's like you can an STD from fooling around or hepatitis from doing drugs via shared needles!. It is an autoimmune disease of the digestive tract that can affect anywhere from the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines, large colon, rectum, and anus!.

There are newer treatments like humira, remicade, entocort, 6mp, or imuran to get it into remission!. surgery is always a last resort!.

for more accurate information, check out the crohn's and colitis foundation's site!. they have everything you need to know--how it's dxed, treated, diet, surgery, coping skills, finding a local support chapter, what IBD (crohn's or ulcerative colitis) is, the myths, the facts, as well as a live chat and hotline run by healthcare professionals, as well as an open forum where folks can post questions to educate themselves!.

You can learn alot about IBD from the site and by attending a local educational meeting!. Knowledge is power!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

As a Crohn's patient, a wife, mother of three children, I can assure you that it is not contagious!. Crohn's is an autoimmune disorder that affects the digestive tract!. It can be inherited, but it can NOT be transmitted!. You won't catch it if you kiss him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
