Question: My girlfriend thinks that having sex will cause her precancerous cells to come back!. Is this true!?
she has hpv!. i do too!. we are faithful to each other but the sex has pretty much been gone since she had the LEEP procedure done!. in the back of her mind she thinks that sex will cause the cells to come back!. i know it won't because those cells can come whenever they want to!. but i just want her to be comfortable enough to bring our intimacy back because it's really becoming rough on our relationshipWww@Answer-Health@Com

Ive never heard that having sex will cause the cancerous cells to come back!. I have hpv and got it from my husband who didn't know he had it, we had sex for 4 years before I ever got an abnormal pap and it was due to having a baby not having sex!. Ive had 2 colpos done and they never removed any cells since it wasnt that bad, 2 abnormal paps later and now Im pregnant again my pap smear was normal! It went normal on its own and I have sex quite often so dont worry, I know how hard it is on her but even without having sex it can come back, its the hpv that causes abnormal cells not you!. It won't make them come back!. My husband and I started dating in 2002, he had HPV and didn't know it, so he transferred it to me!. I didn't have precancerous cells until 2005, had them lasered off, and I haven't had them since!. All you have to do is have regular Pap tests and they'll catch them if they come back!. I've had normal Paps since having them lasered off in 2005!. I had a baby in January and everything was fine!. Just talk to her about it and read up on it and explain to her that many people have HPV and lots of them have sex without any problems!. You have to understand that it is a pretty scary thing to go through!. Maybe start out wearing a condom until she feels that she is ready to go at it again! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
She already has the hpv, the LEEP is only treating the abnormal cells that result from HPV but not the virus itself!. You cannot cure or eliminate the virus that lives in the tissues !. Since you both already have it, there is no reason to avoid sex!. The HPV can come back again, but that wont be because you two had sex!. She could get a new strain of HPV if any new partners are involved!. If she smokes she should stop asap because that would increase her risk for recurrence!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
everytime she is exposed to your infected semens the infection gets worse!. women with hpv find it very helpful to use a condom when having sex!. she isn't disillusional or being paranoid, it's u who's being selfish caring only for your own pleasure!. she could be permanently infertile and even die in 5 years after months of rough cancer treatment!. it's just not worth the pain!Www@Answer-Health@Com
