How contagious is impetigo?!
Question: How contagious is impetigo!?
I was planning to go to my friend's house this evening!. She developed impetigo about a week ago!. This is her third day on antibiotics!. She tells me it isn't contagious un less I touch the infected area(which I do not plan to) and that it is starting to look better!. As long as I don't touch her, should I be alright!? It's pretty infectious and I would be better safe than sorry!. See her elsewhere!. Anywhere she might have touched in her house is still there!. I think that she needs to give her house a good cleaning!.

Impetigo is a common, highly infectious skin disease caused by staphylococcus bacteria or more rarely by the streptococcus bacteria!.
It isn't dangerous but it is an extremely contagious illness!.
It's spread through contact!.
If your friend had bacteria on her hands and had touched something and somebody else then touched that thing,it is likely to infect that person
