Could this be a reaction to shellfish?!

Question: Could this be a reaction to shellfish!?
Last night, I went to a seafood restaurant for dinner, where I tried crayfish for the first time!. This morning I woke up with itchy bumps of various sizes scattered across both my hands!. Some of the bumps are very very small, but others are pretty large!. I realized that maybe this could have been a reaction to the crayfish I tried!. Is this a possibility, and if so, what can I do to get rid of them and stop the itching!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi,

You have a dose of urticaria (hives) as a result of the seafood!. You should go to an Immunologist or Allergist as this could be the start of a severe allergy leading to a medical emergency next time you eat seafood!.
The tests will determine the seriousness of your allergy as some people only have to be near seafood to have a reaction!. In extreme cases one has to carry an epi pen (a type of needle) to inject medicine to counteract an allergic response!.

In the meantime any antihistamine (claritine, bendryl) will help and the hives should go within a day or so!.

Do you eat other shell fish!? If you do then it is not allergies unless it has been a very long time since you have had shellfish, in which case it could be!. I understand you get quite ill with seafood allergies, so see a Dr!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe, but it sounds like a sever case of dermatitis and you need to see the doctor to get some ointment to relieve the itch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

try Benadryl, and yes, this could be a reaction to shellfish!. It's actually common to develop a seafood allergy as an adult!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Be careful and call your doctor tomorrow! You could die from a reaction to shellfish so you're lucky that it's just a rash right now!. Get tested for allergies!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
