Can you eventually die from Peripheral Neuropathy?!

Question:

Can you eventually die from Peripheral Neuropathy?

My mom has peripheral neuropathy, and has for a while. As time goes on, she gets worse. It started from the extremities, and has worked its way inward. She has a hard time going to the bathroom, because her muscles don't work right. She can't walk, but she can get up from bed to wheelchair and wheel chair to toilet, as long as there is something sturdy to hold on too. She has absolutely no balance. She has to wear braces with special shoes. Her toes curl inward, she has not sensations in feet or hands. her fingers are curling, and she has a hard time grasping things now. Her muscles are degenerating and she is weak. She is 62 and in a convelesent home
