Can a child get chicken pox even though she has been in the house for 2 weeks?!

Can a child get chicken pox even though she has been in the house for 2 weeks?

She hasn't been around any kids. only to friends places. Hasn't been outside in 2 weeks due to bad weather and has not been in any public places

she doesn't really play with other kids.. due to the bad weather and the bugs no kids go out to play. she has mainly been in the house. te only kid that she hs been arond is her younger sister. neither has been out in public much and they don't go to school or daycare.


Answers:

Yes, there is the incubation time and of course others coming and going in the house. Do you or spouse work or go to the store? You could have gotten the virus from passing by someone who was a carrier of chicken pox and brought it home to the child even though they did not contract it and break out themselves. I was in the house with my younger brother and sister and helped take care of them and never broke out. Chicken pox are funny like that.
