My question is...?!

Question:

My question is...?

Do you know if bacterial vaginotis can cause pelvic inflammatory disease?

If someone has BV and gets it treated, will she be able to still have children without complications. For example, I know that if someone has PID, there is a risk of infertility and ectopic pregnancies. So how likely is it that BV will cause problems in pregnancy?

Answers:

If the BV is successfully treated, you don't have any risk of infertility, rest assured.
If it is neglected and reaches up the genital tract, it may cause Salpingo-oophoritis or infection of tubes and/or ovaries. It is then that it may result in infertility. So don't worry!
Good luck!
