How can I convince her?
My mom was at work yesterday helping out one of the other Dentist's at her office and she got stuck with a needle that had just been in the patients mouth. My mom didn't say anything because she didn't want to make the patient mad by suggesting they had a disease, such as AIDS. Now I'm afraid for her and I think she should go to the doctor and report this to her boss. I've tried everything, but she wont do it. It's dumb of her to play with her health like this. How can I make her see how important this is and how afraid for her I am?

Definitely it should be reported she could end up with HIV, or even more likely hepatitis. transmission of hepatitis b,c can occur in up to 40% of needle sticks with it present .
anyways her employer would be liable for her care if one of these awful tragedies were to occur and the other thing is in a HIV status unknown situation there are preventative meds AZT or the 3 drug combo that is reccomended either for 1 month or until the patients hiv status report is in .
also she will need immediate and follow up blood work for up to a year to make sure no disease transmission has occured.
