What is wrong with my stomach and how can I fix it?!

Question:

What is wrong with my stomach and how can I fix it?

I take nexium for my stomach. It was working like a dream for about 3 weeks. Then a couple weeks ago after a tiring day at work I took another by mistake instead of my vitamin that I usually take. First was crap that's money and second is what will happen. Well after that my stomach hurt and I had diaherra the next day. Then my stomach started to hurt and now hurts all the time.

In the morning I am fine usually then it starts getting bad during the day. Sometimes I come home after work and it is perfectly fine and then hard again going into night. I still take my nexium every day but it doesn't seem to make much difference. I have to burp a LOT during the day to relieve pressure. I never have acid come up like usual if my stomach is upset. I am also have very light colored stool that is coming out more messy.

If it's the taking two nexium in one day would staying off for a day help? Also the side effects list diaherra and adominal cramps. HELP!

Answers:

You know, as I was reading your post I was thinking the Nexium is just not strong enough and that possibly you just had gastritis (an inflammation of the stomach), however, at the end you said your stools were very light colored. That is a major concern and you NEED to go to the doctor or ER if you do not feel better and feel better soon. The pale stool and constant burping and the on again off again stomach pain now hurting all the time are signs of gallbladder problems (i.e. gallstones) and even pancreatitis or liver problems. If you h ave gallstones a stone can get lodged in the common bile duct cutting off the flow of bile and backing it up in the gallbladder causing pain and infection and possibly even death if it goes untreated. Pancreatitis is a bad thing as well. And LIVER....well, you get the idea. PLEASE go get checked out in the ER. Feel better!
