Does getting blood drawn hurt? I'm 14.?!

Question:

Does getting blood drawn hurt? I'm 14.?

The doctor thinks I'm anemic and have thyroid problems. 5 people in my family have thyroid problems (one has thyroid cancer) and I've been having weird dizzy spells where I get really dizzy and hot and have to hold on to something or I'll collapse. I get those quite frequently, sometimes 3-4 times a day. What could that be and does blood testing hurt?

Answers:

It doesn't hurt much at all. It's just a little poke, and that's it. A good nurse can be done and you won't even realize it. One drew blood from my son when he was maybe 6 months old, and didn't even make the baby cry.

If it bothers you, just look away at something in the room - a TV, another person, or out a window. Try to figure out what's going on in the TV show, or guess what the other person will do at home tonight. This will help the time go by quicker.
