Is it possible to completly recover from lever damage because of Alcohol Abuse?
I had been drinking alot for last five years. last month during a regular medical check up my serum ALT level came up slightly high (Which was 65 IU/L but normal level is 5-40 IU/L). my doctor has done some physical exam and told me not to worry just stop drinking alcohol and drink alot of water, you will be fine. I am just wondring if my liver was damaged how would it heal without any medication and why my doctor did't ask for ultrasound or some other tests. i can't affort to change my doctor right now please help. Thanks in Advance.

your body most of the time will heal itself dont worry if the doc thought that there was any thing that was a real worry he would have sent u 4more tests and the liver is really good at healing its self but it is really important that u drink water give it a rest and stay away from alcohol
