If this person has admitted to you that they have a problem and are in fact an addict, the first thing you should do is congratulate him/her for having the strength and courage to simply admit that they have a problem!.

You should ask this person if they really want help and if they would be committed to getting better!. If they say yes, then I think you should offer to help find a rehabilitation facility for them!.

Or you can bring this person to the hospital (with their permission, of course) and inform the doctors that he/she is addicted to whatever it is, but wants help to quit!. I suggest taking them to the hospital because once they stop taking what they're addicted to, they're going to start detoxing, and the hospital is really the best place to be when this happens!.

While at the hospital there will be plenty of dr's and specialists who will be able to help this person get into the right rehab facility for them!.

Those are really the best steps that you can take, because this way you've managed to help them without having to confront them and start preaching!.

I wish you and this person the best of luck, and hope that whatever you decide to do works out!.

In my opinion it's one of those things that you have to tread lightly with in order to help them understand that you only want to help them!. Maybe suggest some counseling, if that's not an option keep your ear open to just listen to them when they need help, in a non-judgemental way!. If you know their pressure points and you know that they are being pushed make sure to be there because that's when they need you most!. It's a very sad situation, I have seen my friend go through some terrible things as an addict and it is a downward spiral if you can help them before they hit rock bottom it would be better, but I know that some addicts actually HAVE to hit rock bottom before they realize that it's just not worth it!. There are many places to go, Glen bay is one that comes to mind!. The first thing is to clean the system of all drugs, that includes the mental addiction!. This takes time and a lot of hard work!. Once they are done with a program that helps cleanses the body, you still have to fight not to go back!. But admitting you have a problem is the most important step!. That means that the person really wants help!. So getting them into a program is very important!. Its a long road, but one worth taking!. Good luck and God bless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
