I have a pimple?!?!

Question:

I have a pimple?!?

I have a pimple on the bottom of my chin, is there anyway to get rid of it before tomorrow? I also have a very oily face, how can i get it less greasy? Thanks so much!

Answers:

Unfortunetely, your pimple won't be cleared up by tomorrow and will take at least a week. The main thing is to reduce redness at this point and then provide good coverage with a concealer.

But first thing's first.

An oily or combination skin type is easily fixed by using the right products. A person from your local pharmacy or makeup counter will be able to help you, but i'll try first.

It is important to cleanse, tone and moisturise in the morning and night, to keep your skin clean and free or dirt and grease, which cause blemishes and greasy skin.

Products that contain Salicylic Acid are good ones to start with as this element dries the skin and fights the oil. Remember though, overdrying only leads to an ever oilier complexion, as the body overdoses on oil to compensate for dryness.
Secondly, choose a product that is non-comedogenic properties, because these too, wil aide with clearing your skin and keeping pimples and blemishes away.

A toner should be alcohol free, as this dries the skin, hypo-allergenic also means that there are no elements to irritate the skin.

A moisturiser should be oil-free and usually contain a sunscreen but because of your oily skn, i might skip that for separate sun screen application.

Always cleanse your face with the cleanser, pat dry with clean towel, then apply toner with a clean cotton bud. Apply moisturiser over face and neck until all has been absorbed.

Remember not to touch your face throughout the day, as much as you can, because there are a lot of germs and bacteria on our hands that we can easily transfer to the face, which cause blemishes.

I'd also advise you to throw your pillowcase out and buy a new one. Cotton is a breathable fabric that is fine against the skin.

As for products, i have normal skin that used to be a bit combination on my T-Zone. The T-Zone is the forehead, down the nose and across the chin. I don't really have this problem anymore.

I use Loreal Pure Zone products on my skin. The cleanser, toner and moisturiser have salicylic acis and are non-comedogenic. The moisturiser is also oil free.
The cleanser and toner are around $10.00, while the moisturiser is about $15.00.
I use the pump cleanser, not the gel and of the two moisturisers i use the exfoliating one.
There are two kinds of pure zone, to best tell the difference, one is a lighter blue colour, the other is darker.
The darker bl;ue bottle moisturiser is smaller and more expensive but this is what i use. Either is fine.

Other products include Neutrogena, which i used to use in my early 20's. I'm now 27. Their products are non-comedogenic and have salicylic acid, and are also not tested on animals and are the right pH balance for your skin. A 'ph' is the measure of acidity in your skin, products can upset this.

The Deep Clean Facial wash is a good cleanser, also the Liquid Cleanser.
The Deep Clean Invigorating Cleanser Mask acts as a daily cleanser and once a week mask. The mask is a good idea for a weekly deep cleanse of the skin. Any mask that is deep cleansing, that cleans out the pores of the skin, are good ones to try.
There is also an Acne Free Wash for blemish prone skin.
The neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner is a nice and mild product for the skin as well.

Now, after cleaning your skin, you will need to use oil-free makeup and a concealer which aides blemish free skin.

Revlon New Complexion makeup is oil free, so this is a good option, as is Neutrogenia Skin Clearing Oil Free Makeup.

Great concealers which help and treat blemish skin include Maybelline Coverstick Corrector Concealer, which comes in a few colours to treat blemishes, reddness and blue circles under eyes respectively.
The Rimmel Blemish Stick is also a good one, i have used both.

When you apply concealer, use either your little finger or a fine concealer brush. Put a small amount on the blemish and then blend the edges into the skin. You can apply a translucent powder over your face to set your makeup. Powders such as Max Factor are a great example.

Lastly, stick foundations are a no no as they are usually oil based and water based products are more designed for problem skin.
Liquid formulas give better coverage than powders and creams and remember that you can carry blooting papers with you to combat any shiny moments when you notice any extra oiliness.
Bloom and Crabtree and Evelyn have good products.

I hope you have fun with the products and see results soon. These things take time and remember, that exercise and a healthy diet are just as important to good skin as beauty products.
Don't worry about blemishes or oily skin. It can be rectified but the most important thing to people is YOU and who you are. Not what is on your face :)
