What is the scaly dry skin in the same area on each of my feet?!

Question:

What is the scaly dry skin in the same area on each of my feet?

On top of each of my feet, in the exact same place (on the bone or joint or whatever it is that is near the ankle and about lined up with the toe next to the pinky toe on each foot), I have very dry, scaly skin. It is reddish pink and often turns gray or even black when it is wet. Lotion hasn't worked and neither has first aid cream. It isn't painful, but it is very unattractive! What could it be?

Answers:

Probably tinea pedis - "athlete's foot"...a fungus.
You can try an over-the-counter anti-fungal ointment or cream...or see a doctor to get a definitive diagnosis and prescription medication to get rid of it.

Hope this helps.
