Question: Eye allergies making eyes act funny, weird sensations, sights!?
The high pollen count is making my eyes act so weird, sparks in the dark, blurry, achy, itchy, red!. why do the eyes make weird things in the dark with these allergies!. can pollen stick to eye and irritate it enough to make funny things happen when you close your eyes or walk into a dark room!? Well, it appears to me that this could very well be normal!. Whatever part of the allergy is causing the blurry eye could easily be what causes the sparks in the dark!. What happens either way is something has blocked your field of vision and reacts differently depending upon how much surrounding light is available!.
Just like the particles can stick in your nose, causing the sneezing reactions, I think it is entirely possible that they can do the same to your eyes!.
If it becomes bothersome to the point that it absolutely interferes with your daily life, do something!. OTC allergy relief, visit your doctor or a pharmacist, or a combination thereof!.
The best way I know to explain why it seems like a spark is this -
You possibly have some tiny particle or two in your field of vision!. During the day, there is enough light to see, but it reflects off of that particle and causes the blur as there is plenty of surrounding light still available around that particle while it is still in your field of vision!. During darker hours, however, the light reflecting off of it goes straight to your eyes with no prominent surrounding light to absorb the impact of a sudden, though obviously not major, burst of light directly into your eyes!.
