Answers:
White blood cells (leukocytes) help fight infection in your body!. A normal white blood cell count is between 4,500 and 10,000 cells per microliter!. Your husband's WBC count is within the high normal range!. See bullets below!. Is he on an anticonvulsant since his seizure!?

A high white blood cell count (leukocytosis) isn't a specific disease!. But it may indicate an underlying problem that requires medical evaluation!. Causes of a high white blood cell count include:

* Infection
* Use of certain medications, such as corticosteroids, antibiotics or anti-seizure drugs
* Severe physical or emotional stress
* Chronic bone marrow diseases such as a myeloproliferative disorder
* Acute or chronic leukemia
* Tissue damage, such as from burns

CIDP is an autoimmune disease!. I'm curious why the doctors think your husband count have cancer!. Why don't you ask them!? Fastest way to an answer!. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK THE DOCTORS ANYTHING!. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW!. THEY ARE NOT GODS!. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE THINKING IF YOU DON'T ASK, especially because they must have at least hinted about possible cancer!! Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is not the normal way a white blood cell count is reported!.

You have not included the units - it should be number of cells per volume of blood!. We could tell you more if we had the appropriate units included with the number!. If it is 9920 white cells per microliter of blood, it would be in the normal range!. If it is 9920 K / microliter, it would be the highest white count I have ever seen - which is very unlikely

It is appropriate to ask for a copy of the report and compare the results to the normal values listed in the read out!.
It is always difficult to provide a complete medical education to fully explain every test result, but the significantly abnormal ones should be explained by the physician who ordered the test done!. The best time to do this in a non-emergency situation is during a regular office visit rather than late at night over the phone!.

The only disorder that causes a hugely elevated white count is chronic myelogenous leukemia which would not be commonly associated with seizures and sweating!. I suspect this white count is a red herring and not really the main problem here, but we just can't tell without the full correct CBC report!.

you know, as a patient your husband has the right to demand a full explanation of what all his test results mean, dont take time to research here call the clinic, hospital or whatever and get it straight from the people who were trained to knowWww@Answer-Health@Com

Because you didn't put the unit of measure behind it I'm not completely sure!. But the normal is under 12!. So yes it is very high!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
