Question: Do you have or do you know someone with Crohn's Disease!? Questions!?
My daughter is 15 and has had severe lower right quadrant pain for more than 3 months now!. Food allergies, celiac's, meckel's diverticulitis, etc!.!.!. have all been ruled out!.
Yesterday she finally had scopes!. From what her pediatric gastroenterologist could see, everything looks normal, which we were very relieved about!. He did biopsies, so we'll get those results in a week!.
Main question - how were you diagnosed for Crohn's!. Did you get the diagnosis from the colonoscopy or was a different test needed!? I've heard scope tests can come back normal, but it's eventually diagnosed as Crohn's!. Any advice!?

usually, a patient is diagnosed with Crohn's Disease by histopathology!. Lab results, colonoscopy and signs and symptoms are only leading to a possible diagnosis of Crohn's Disease, but the final diagnosis is through histopathology!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I must say, 13 years ago as a healthy 21 year old, I was shocked to wake up from a colonoscopy, still heavily medicated, seeing about 5 versions of my doctor!.!.to hear "You have Crohn's Disease"!.
They can also use a CT Scan to diagnosis it, but the colonoscopy should show something if she is in a flare up!. Either bleeding or narrowing of the intestines!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi!. I have Crohn's disease and I'm 15 years old as well!. I have had it since i was 9(unfortunately)!. I was diagnosed from a colonoscopy and was immeadiatly put on Prednizone!.
Actually, a couple of weeks ago i had a pain in my lower right quadrant and was sent in for a Barium xray!. They said my illium was inflamed!. Does your daughter have Crohns or are you still trying to figure that out!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was diagnosed after my biopsy results, but as soon as they seen ma colon pics they new straight away because of red sores lining my bowel and my intestine! mind u i dont trust docs very much any more they have made me worse :OWww@Answer-Health@Com
