How can I being a person with very light skin get a tan, my skin is very soft a smooth but at present time it is a little dry, also my skin is very light and I am trying to get a tan but since my skin is so light I normally just get burned.

Do a little every day - with an spf - you will get tan -
some people don't 'tan' you can also use a moisturizer that helps tan daily - a few brands make them - I'd give it a shot after you exfoliate your skin in the shower apply when dried off.
