My 2 year old son throws up constantly?!

Question:

My 2 year old son throws up constantly?

Since he was born my son has had bouts of vomiting. They usually last for 4 days but he throws up once or twice and is fine. Its not his diet and the GI doctors have ruled out everything else. Has anyone else had this experience with their child. Did they grow out of it?

Answers:

hmmmm, the last time that happened to me I was in kidney failure and was put on dialysis. but if your son ever had that problem the doctors would have discovered by now. Don't worry.

It can also be a very severe case of GERD or better known as acid reflux disease. I happen to have that but prilosec OTC has been a godsend for me. As the Drs about whether or not this drug is safe for him to take. All that vomiting can lead to erosion of the lining to your esophagus and prilosec can help that, but nexium (by prescription) is a little better. Both drugs are almost exactly the same chemically so if your doctor doesn't really know for sure, he can start him on it just to see if it makes any difference at all as a test.
GERD can be especially nasty to live with. Trust me I know all about this horrible condition.

Ask your sons doctors if it can possibly be an allergy to something such as perfume or even the laundry detergent you use. I have heard of this happening to some people who are extremely allergic to cologne and perfume. Those poor folks never go to the mall since the dept stores always have women sales reps spraying peoples hands as samples.

Anyway, good luck.
