Answers:
Rust is not a disease!. It's caused by oxidation of ferrous metal!. The reason the "rusty nail" is so infamous is that rusty things tend to be dirty things that no one has taken care of!. In particular, rusty things that have been around animals, like rusty nails in a stable, tend to have tetanus bacteria on them!. In addition, a nail wound is a perfect home for tetanus since it is deep and doesn't admit much air!. Tetanus likes puncture wounds because it needs an oxygen-free environment!.

You should not be walking around with open wounds or touching them with dirty hands! But if you clean and care for it properly now there's no reason rust is any more dangerous than any other dirt!.

If you're worried, make sure your tetanus vaccination is up to date!. You need a booster within 10 years and if you have a bad injury a lot of doctors like to make sure you've had one within 5!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
