What does it mean when your hand is numb and tingling for a week?

my brother's been having these symptoms ... he's 25 and in good shape ... what could it be?

Answers:

go to the doctor and get a thyroid blood test. I had the same thing and now I'm on synthroid. Apparently thyroid problems are becoming more common now.
