Anybody else suffer CHRONIC PAIN? :(?!

Question: Anybody else suffer CHRONIC PAIN!? :(!?
Hello everyone!.
I was diagnosed with a disease called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy in my right leg in 2006!.
It started off in my ankle and is now up to my hip,
BUT

I'm having some of the worst pain in my life in my left leg!.
Its got me in tears and vomiting and i just can't stand it!.

If you have chronic pain, what do you do personally!?!!?!
How do you get yourself to get your mind off the pain!.
I've tried everything

and please dont say advil/tylonel etc!. i know you're just trying to help, but with chronic pain/rsd, even a billion shots of morphine won't work!. thank you

**I know this is my second posting, but it's just so hard right now and i just really need some help/something to take my mind off the pain!. sorry :'(Www@Answer-Health@Com

I could of written this posting as I have RSD also, I am at stage 3, so I really understand how you feel!. I've had it since 1997 and it's not getting better!. You look normal on the outside, but on the inside you are suffering so badly that you cannot explain to anyone so I don't even bother to try anymore!. I've isolated myself!.,but when things get really bad I do force myself to go outside!.I am a positive person which I think helps allot but it is really hard most days to put on a happy face!.Your remark about a billion shots of morpine made me cry, I know it wouldn't help!. Most people know nothing about the pain of RSD or the actual disorder itself so they cannot help you, It's a daily struggle just to survive!. I think you are the very first person that I can say this to and that's I understand 100% what you are going through going through and it really really sucks, hang in there,Donna This is for anyone who writes about applying ice, it'sa definite no with RSD, as ice stimulates your sympathetic nervous system so itis a definite no!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

oh sweetie,i sit here writing you as i still feel a hint of my pain that the STRONG meds barly touch, well right now i took alot of methodone and so im getting some relief,i was told first it was fybromyalgia then m!.s!. now it seems to be a malformation of the lower part of my brain,my nerologist is checking to see if its in my neck too,i know it is,my pain starts there and goes to shoulder ,rib cage, all ribs,on left side, even my breast hurts!.i take my meds but barly get relief, its so wierd i found you asking this cause last night was a killer, its why i took ore than prescribed meds, and have not been to bed!.what i did was called crisis hotline, they talked me thru the pain and emotions,i cried from the pain and then i called again!.talking to a listening ear while enduring it does take your mind else where!.they tried to get me to talk of positive things in my life!.ice packs and i mean a freezer bag with crushed ice directly on areas of pain will numb mine at times, you could try this!.also heat is bad!!!!!!!!!it makes mine worse!.take narcotics if you can, with other over the counter drugs!.do research on your condition and see what others do!.good luck and god bless!i just read where some1 said no ice so check it out with dr and make sure if you should not use ice!my pain is chronic and life long,a support group could help also, igo!.talking to others who know how you feel and getting feedback is great help!.i will keep you in my prayers and yes prayer helps ease the spirit!.e-mail me if you want to!.also do go to a pain management clinic to get the best meds for pain and ask for phenegran,it helps the vomiting and kicks in meds, lyrica is also uesd for nerve pain along with narcotics for at least some relief,i feel you,god bless you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest to relieve the pain at the moment!. Start meditating!. When you meditate all pain is relieved and at the same time speeds up the normal healing process!. It is very good to do!. When you meditate it is pretty much the same feeling as sleeping and this will take you mind off the pain!. Their are many ways to meditate!. Technique 1: Picture a Crystal Ball in your stomach!. (may sound silly but is best way for this technique)!. When you do this when your body goes numb your brain shifts to the Alpha state and causes you to not feel hardly any pain if any!. Technique 2: Visualize yourself and feel yourself sitting in the woods or a scene that is tranquil and passive for you!. I hope this helps!. Oh, and as well as helping the pain it will reduce them in the future and be able to be coped with and heal any common colds as it strengthens immune system!. Oh!. and make sure you are sitting in a comfy position while doing this!. Lotus, Indian, or lying down!. (lying down may put you to sleep careful)Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you don't have prescription pain meds right now, I'd try Advil, ice, and trying to massage your leg!. But, what you really need to do is find yourself a pain management doctor, so you can get some meds that will really help you!. I know the kind of pain you're feeling - I had herniated disk surgery and now I have Fibromyalgia and back pain, so I'm almost always dealing with some sort of severe pain somewhere!.

I'd also suggest trying some biofeedback and/or hypnosis, because unfortunately the RSD will never go away!. Believe me, I know what it's like to be looking at a future of chronic pain for life!. It sucks!. However, sometimes it helps to listen to some hypnosis recordings (I like Glenn Harrold's recordings best - his voice is calming) with an MP3 player, in a quiet room, with a comfy sleep mask on!.

Have you tried playing video games to get your mind off the pain for a little bit!? Sometimes a few games on my Game Boy Advance helps for a little while!.

I'm sorry there's nothing I can say to take the pain away!. I empathize!. I hope by now you're feeling a little better!. But, as soon as you can, if you haven't already, find yourself a good pain management doctor!. My meds help control the pain - some days better than others!. It's never gone, but the meds definitely help!.

Good luck to you!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
