MY ANSWER IS (Part 1):-
Seasickness and carsickness are both forms of motion sickness which can also occur during air travel and weightlessness.

Motion sickness is caused by conflicting signals being sent to the brain from the ears and eyes. The inner ear - responsible for maintaining your equilibrium - contains fluid called endolymph. When you're in a moving car or boat the fluid becomes agitated, causing nerve cells to send signals to the brain informing it that you're moving, while the signals from the eyes indicate you're stationary. The conflicting signals between perceived movement and actual movement is what causes motion sickness.

The most common symptoms of motion sickness are nausea and vomiting. The word nausea derives from the Greek word naus, meaning ship. Unfortunately vomiting doesn't improve the plight of motion sickness sufferers.

MY ANSWER IS (Part 2):-

There are a number of ways to prevent or alleviate motion sickness. Fixing your eyes on distant objects can help because it makes the brain realise movement is occurring, which accords with the signals being sent to it by the ears.

Facing forwards while travelling also helps, as does sitting in the front seat of a car or the area of the vehicle with the least amount of movement. Fresh air, a full stomach and frequent stops can also help, as can closing the eyes and taking certain medications. It's also said that chewing on ginger reduces motion sickness.

Reading a book is inadvisable however because it persuades the brain you're stationary.
