Genital herpes is sexually transmitted, unless the other person has oral herpes, in which case if you kiss them you can get it too!. Unless you're talking about herpes ZOSTER, which is a totally different thing, it is like a flare up of chicken pox that the person may have had earlier in their life!. If you come in contact with someone who has herpes zoster, you could get chicken pox from them if you have never had it, but you wont catch the herpes zoster (also known as shingles)Www@Answer-Health@Com
