Question about ovarian surgery?!

Question:

Question about ovarian surgery?

a friend just got surgery to remove two tumors... and she is feeling pain inside around the ovary section. It has been 2 week since the surgery and she barely got her stitches taken out. How long is the usual time to heal both stitches and body? Is it normal to have pains and fever? what can be taken for pain and for the cut? I need professional answers please.

Answers:

She should expect to be sore if she had surgery. That is normal. Healing time depends on her age and her general overall health. The younger and healthier she is, the quicker she will recover. It is not normal to have a fever, but anything under 100 is acceptable as the body is healing and a low grade fever is not necessarily anything to get too concerned over. If the fever is over 100, does not diminish in the morning and lasts for more than 3 days, she should touch base with her doc. She needs to keep up her fluid intake, eat lightly and stay away from fatty, hard to digest foods, and get plenty of rest. Good luck.
