Acetaminophen dose for pleurisy?!

Question:

Acetaminophen dose for pleurisy?

I had it about a year ago and it hurt like hell when I breathed/coughed. I remember the doctor simply prescribed me ibuprofen- I think it was a large dose like 500 mg. Anyway, it made the swelling and pain go away and it was all good.

This time I have acetaminophen and I figured since it was an anti-inflammatory I could take it instead of getting a prescription but I need to know the right dose. Anyone know?

Answers:

Tylenol will help with the pain but ibuprofen or motrin is better because it will decrease the inflammation as well as help with pain. try 600mg
