Sister's Boyfriend Has Cancer?!

Question:

Sister's Boyfriend Has Cancer?

This evening, my sister told my family that her live-in [he lives with us] boyfriend is dying from cancer [testicular, I believe]. He doesn't have a job [he basically refuses to get one], so he has no health insurance. My sister said he doesn't want to get treated, he just wants to die.

1. How can we persuade him to get treated, or where can he receive treatment without insurance?

2. Can the health department do anything?
We cannot pay for it because times are tough for us right now. Plus, he's not our responsibility.

Also,
3. How can we persuade him to find somewhere else to go without making it seem like we don't want him here?
We just don't want to wake up one morning and find him dead.

More importantly,
4. What can I say to my sister to comfort her?
I'm afraid I'll say something stupid and make things worse.

Sorry, this seems like a lot of questions, but thank you in advance for any suggestions or advice.

I highly doubt his family will help him, they evicted him from their house, which is why he's living with us in the first place.

Thank you all for your help so far.

Zach H, if my family were cold, we would have kicked him to the curb a long time ago. I'm scared to death of waking up one morning and finding him like that. That would traumatize me for life. I don't want any of my family members to be scarred for life.

Ok you can't always persuade people to do the right thing. But it never hurts to try. Tell him that you guys love him but he needs to get the treatment. And maybe pitch in a little bit of money or even go to a local store and help raise awareness. And im pretty sure his family will help. And say what ever you feel to you sister even if you say the wrong thing she wont hate you forever. And after its all over she will be so happy that she knew you were there for her. [:
Dont forget prayer is always the key.
I wish you the best.
