Is the treatment for wet macular a painful one?
ie injecting into the eye with the new drug avistan or are you put under also risk of infection

My poor dad has this, but unfortunately has the dry type so cannot get the injections as it wouldn't help him. His doctor said that if he had the wet type, he'd need monthly injections. These would be done while he was conscious. I would imagine this would be pretty horrendous, but he said he'd be willing to do anything to get some of his sight back. With any type of injection, i guess there would be risk of infection though.
