Do you have to be born with a thyroid disease?!

Question: Do you have to be born with a thyroid disease!?
Do you have to be born with a thyroid disease or is it something that you can develop later on, I was tested for a thyroid when my mother was diagnosed and the test said that I was fine but lately my neck and tonsils have became swollen just like hers and I have unexplained weight gain (eating healthier than ever) so im just wondering if i could have developed one!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

How old are you!? Your thyroid is located in the front of your throat near your collar bone!. Are you swollen there!. Your age can explain why you are having weight gain!. Are you hormonal!?

Often times the thyroid gets worn out because of a persons diet, lack of iodine, hormonal imbalances, to much white table salt with iodine, eating way to many white flour products, even being in a swimming pool to much can cause chlorine poisoning (drinking water also high in chlorine) all of these drain the thyroid!.

Your post does not give any information about what may have caused this!. Being low in iron, b 12, folic acid and other minerals can also cause unexplained weight gain, not to say that thyroid couldnt as well!.

There is a book called You Are What You Eat by Gillian Mc Keith that you should probably read!. The 11 week diet plan that cleanse out the body will often reverse hormonal diseases like CFS, PCOS, PID, PMS, PMD, Thyroid problems, etc!. because the body is being fed the foods to help it!.

You may find the website below useful to look up symptoms from lack of certain minerals!.

EDIT: I might also add that if you mother and you are both eating the same foods it is likely that if you are both allergic to the foods and drinks( energy drinks, pop, diet pop) you will both have the same problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are usually not born with it but it has been known with some to be!. My son developed it in his 30's!. It is unusual for Males to get it!. No one else in the family has had it!. They say sometimes it is hereditary though, especially among women!. Have it checked out!. Serious but not too life threatening!. Most people lead a normal life once they have their hormones regulated using medication!. My son has had it 5 years and is fine if he stays on his meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you don't have to be born with it, thyroid problems can developed anytime in your lifetime!. Maybe you are more susceptible due to your mother having it!. I believe you should have it checked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My grandmother got thyroid disease when she was in her 50's, my mom got it when she was in her 40's!. So no, you do not have to be born with it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
