If my child and I were exposed to strep throat in the nursery on Sunday, how lik!

Question:

If my child and I were exposed to strep throat in the nursery on Sunday, how likely are we to get it?

We were fighting the tail end of a cold already... I have read somewhere that strep can incubate for 5 days?

Answers:

It depends on your immune systems & how close of contact you had with the child. You have a better chance of getting it if the child had a fever or had not been on antibiotics. Usually antibiotics will make it less contageous in about 24-48 hrs. I don't know about an incubation period- I usually catch it very quickly. You might take some vitamin C just in case too. I hope this helps & you stay healthy! Good luck!
