What are symptoms of Lactose Intolerance?!
Question:
What are symptoms of Lactose Intolerance?
Answers:
Bloating, gas, diarrhea, can have nausea too; can last for a couple of hours.
However, there are things that can help: Breyer's produces a lactose-free vanilla bean ice cream (very good).
Lactaid pills were mentioned in another answer; however, they didn't work for me. Years ago, I purchased Lactaid drops through the Internet from a pharmacy in Canada (it is not sold in the USA any more). The only difference is that the instructions say so many drops per liter, rather than per gallon. After ordering, I got it in about a week.
You may be able to tolerate cheeses, cottage cheese, stuff like that. Trial and error.
Health food stores sell "ice-cream" like products like SoyDelicious or rice based "ice-cream" fudge bars, etc. They are excellent! Don't let the names fool you.
With time, you will learn what you can eat and find substitutes for what you crave.
I've been lactose intolerant over 30 years and have no lack of goodies to eat.
